Greetings!
Welcome to another successful school year! Waterford Oaks is the greatest school on earth because of our staff, pupils, parents, and community partnership. We are looking forward to 2013, and all the great things we know the future holds.
I am privileged to serve as the instructional leader of Waterford Oaks Elementary. It is my aspiration to ensure all students are educated with high expectations in effort to attain their full potential. As a result, our instructors will focus on student engagement, differentiated instructional strategies, higher order thinking skills, enrichment activities, and hands-on activities. I encourage and invite you to partner with us because you make the difference!
We sincerely appreciate volunteers and recommend that you to stay involved in your child's education. Please keep in mind, all volunteers must submit an application and receive district approval. If you volunteered this past school year, you are required to renew your volunteer application online at www.chisd.net. In addition, if you plan to travel on a field trip with your youngster, you are required to complete and submit an online volunteer application. Processing volunteer applications can require up to a week or more. Thus, plan ahead, so that you may enjoy that special time in your child's educational experience.
We will continue to focus on character development daily. Classes receive "Character Cash" from the staff when their entire class is exhibiting expected behaviors in the corridor and the cafeteria. Classes earn incentives each time they they obtain "Character Cash" in increments of 25. Individual students have the opportunity to earn "Shining Star" coupons! Each six weeks, one student from each class who has earned the most "Shining Star" coupons will be recognized and attend an Ice Cream Party with the Principals. Be sure to encourage your child to model our character pillars (trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, kindness, & citizenship).
